About

I had four fantastic grandparents. They’re all gone now, but their recipes remain. And I’m cooking the toughest of them (the ones even my Mom won’t try). Why? Because, in 2007, on the day my Grandma, my last surviving grandparent died, my Dad said “But Ma, you can’t die, who’s going to make the octopus?” The answer was clear: me. With the octopus down , I move on to equally tough and equally tasty challenges to recreate my favorite family meals from the vague recipes left by my fantastic four. In the world of family cooking, a cup is not a cup and enough is an exact measure.
